OUR STORY
The story of Thai Nimman begins with Chiang Mai, a city where tradition, beauty, creativity, and modern life come together.
Our name is inspired by Nimmanhaemin, one of Chiang Mai’s most vibrant neighborhoods — a place known for its unique blend of Northern Thai character, contemporary design, art, cafés, and modern city life.
But to us, Nimman carries another feeling as well.
It evokes the imagination of a beautiful place above the clouds — a celestial vimarn surrounded by light, sky, serenity, and beauty.
That imagination became part of the world we wanted to create at Thai Nimman.
From shades inspired by the blue of the sky and touches of gold, to the warmth and glow reminiscent of Chiang Mai nights, Thai Nimman is designed to feel modern and elegant while remaining connected to Thailand.

Thai Nimman is the next chapter in a journey that began with Thai Basil.
For years, our family has had the privilege of sharing Thai food with the Madison community through Thai Basil. Along the way, we discovered an opportunity to tell another side of Thailand’s food story — one inspired by the incredible variety of street food, noodle traditions, and everyday rice dishes found throughout the country. That idea became Thai Nimman.
We didn’t want to create another Thai Basil. We wanted to create something with its own identity — a modern Thai restaurant where we could explore another part of the food culture we know and love.
Thai Basil and Thai Nimman will remain two distinct experiences, while the culinary teams behind them continue to share knowledge, experience, and a passion for Thai cooking.

A JOURNEY THROUGH THAILAND, ONE BOWL AT A TIME.
At Thai Nimman, our food concept brings together a diverse collection of noodle traditions from across Thailand and the rice dishes that Thai people know, love, and enjoy in everyday life.
Thailand’s noodle culture is wonderfully diverse. Different regions and communities have their own combinations of broths, seasonings, textures, ingredients, and traditions. Thai Nimman was created to celebrate and bring that diversity together.
Alongside our noodles, we celebrate comforting rice dishes and street-food flavors that are part of everyday life in Thailand — food that is flavorful, satisfying, approachable, and meant to be enjoyed again and again.
Our goal is to introduce Madison to a broader experience of Thai food while keeping it welcoming, comforting, and suitable for everyday dining.
We aren’t ready to reveal everything just yet.
The bowls, the flavors, and a few surprises are still to come.
DINING EXPERIENCE / FIRST LOOK
Thai Nimman will be a full-service restaurant with a modern, beautiful, and welcoming environment. The experience should feel elevated without feeling overly formal or inaccessible. Pricing is intended to remain approachable and consistent with the quality of the ingredients and preparation.
Thai Nimman will also feature a full bar. For the Coming Soon website, the bar may be hinted at through selected interior imagery, but the full beverage program should be saved for a later reveal.
